The Sincerest Form of Flattery...

Alert reader Ranjit tipped me off to these Sita Sings the Blues images used (without permission) for advertising on Indian web sites.

I know I'm supposed to get bent out of shape about this sort of thing, but I'm too busy being amused!

Comments:

..if I wuz you I'd sue...no, but seriously, when I saw an image from Sita used in a banner I was just curious as to who had done it / where it had come from, since it looked so recogniseable / fresh etc...

...maybe you should contact them and just get them to link to your website when you click on the image...

I agree, they can't just rip off your work and give you no credit. Although it is kind of neat that your work is going mainstream (?)

I would agree, just the problem is that they do this all the time in India. Every small shop is "advertised" by some big movie star (they have really clever painters to do the painting), and I really do not believe that you can do anything at all...

ANd sorry once more... Haven't you seen this in India? I was really amused, and... well with such a great cartoon (and lots of letters from India saying so), I would really EXPECTED it :)
