The Hostess with the Leastest

After much thought, I'm ready to post another animated chapter of Sita Sings the Blues: Battle of Lanka. Only thing is, I can't afford the hosting if my site gets stormed again like it did last year. Anyone want to host this puppy? It's 31.6 MB. Yes, I tried Google Video, and it did upload, but it plays like crap, skipping 4 out of 5 frames. And yes, I know about bittorrent, but I've never had much luck with it myself and I always prefer clips that play online without any additional software. I guess I'm getting picky - artifact-laden compression and tiny picture sizes are as far as I'm willing to compromise, you'll have to pry that frame rate out of my cold, dead hands.

Comments:

You could check out Ourmedia.org,
though I've only used it for short video clips and music, don't know how it would handle a big chunky file like yours.

Go to www.archive.org and post it in the open source video sectin with a creative commons license of by-nc-sa or by-nd-nd. You still have copyright and the hosting is free as long as you use a creative commons license. more infor here:

Nina, Lea Hernandez here.

Check out webcomicsnation.com for hosting. $9.95 a month for unlimited storage and unmetered bandwidth. (And you keep all the rights.)

I'm also giving grants of a years' WCN hosting to three women, announcing details at divalea.livejournal.com in June. You're certainly qualified.

Youtube?

ramayana -- 1000bc?

what are you talking about?

the ramayana and the story of sita and rama is many many thousand years older than that...

I second the suggestion for Youtube.

Don't even think about using youtube for this. You tube has terrible resolution and frame rate (especially with larger content) and isn't set up to handle anything that isn't an mpeg in 4/3 aspect ratio. Nina (and Sita) deserve widescreen.
