Agni Pariksha

Boy am I glad the holidays are over. I did get some work done, a new 3-minute segment in a new style to contrast with the Hanshaw/Betty-Boop-esque musical numbers. I'd post it online, but it just can't withstand web compression. There are some stills here. The music is by Todd Michaelsen and I rotoscoped off dancer Reena Shah. I will be showing a sneak preview on February 15 at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, Long Island; more about that soon.

Comments:

Hello and greetings from The Netherlands.

I watched your animation 'Fetch' a couple of months ago on Channel Frederator, but I couldn't remember your name. Today I tried to get that episode back and luckily I've found it. I just love Fetch: what a great animation and music!

So keep up the good work in this new year :)

more details about this february 15 thing, please.

is the public invited? it would give me an excuse to go to huntington long island and see your thing AND this friend of mine. birds. two of them. killed. one perfect stone.

Hi....

Amazing.... never thought about anything like this. Really wonderful.

Hi Nina!

I have been a fan since Nina's Adventures way back in the day... I am exactly your age, and that strip was one of the only ones that I felt I could relate to.

Anyway - I lost track of you for a while, until recently a friend of mine co-curated an animation show in Chicago that'll be showing your work. I thought, THAT Nina Paley? And you are! The online stuff looks awesome, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it on the big scren. You go girl!

Gretchen
