Ye Olde Ayodhya

This painting thing continues to take too much (all) of my time. Here's my attempt at a mythical Ayodhya, based on a Mughal painting. As an experiment, I tried detailing with India ink. I probably won't do that again. In this composite I re-used trees and the background. Gotta paint more backgrounds. Ugh. Patience is not one of my virtues.

Comments:

thats interesting... it looks like a mix between a medieval european fortress and a mughal city with the odd renaissance style building thrown in. I dont know if ayodhya would have looked like that but its definitely an eclectic mix.

love your work.

Dear Nina,

I saw Sita singing the blues and was speechless. I thought I should thank you for something or the other and went to the letters page but figured I couldn't say as much as those verbose people there did. I am still speechless. I am really awestruck and to be honest... slightly jealous. I am no cartoonist or animator but your work makes me want to be.

Thank you. Thank you so much for this day. I love mythology and ... different takes on it.

Thank you so much.

P.S: I would be honoured if you visit my site. I write on mythology sometimes. I would be grateful if you do not consider this spam. Am commenting because i had no patience to mail.
